A lovely cover - I'm a sucker for interaction between the words and illustration. The cover of 'Love In Row 27' had the same whimsical and playful effect. :)

The blurb immediately set me thinking of that tenderly heart-breaking movie 'Ghosts' and if Eithne Shortall can evoke similar feelings then 'Grace after Henry' will be a top-seller.

The first few pages show the couple's love for one another. The horrific contrast in what follows produced a real physical shock as I read it. That's powerful writing.

(And suddenly I'm not quite so enamoured of that cute cover illustration.)
