Grace after Henry is one of those books that you want to tell everyone you know about, as soon as you finish the last page. Thank goodness that I am a book blogger and I get to shout about it from the rooftops.

Grace’s life and heart are shattered into a million pieces when her soul mate Henry dies in an accident. Don’t worry I haven’t given anything away, we already know that from the title! We go with Grace on her journey as she attempts to kick-start her new normal.

As Grace takes the tentative steps of going through the daily life motions, she starts to see her newly departed Henry everywhere. Is she going mad? Is she being haunted? You will have to delve into the novel to find out.

Dare I use the cliche that the book was an emotional rollercoaster? Yes, I really will have to as it fits the bill perfectly. The book is filled with heart-wrenching emotion but it is balanced with Eithne Shortall’s witty and uplifting humour.

Grace after Henry, really was a gentle nudge to remember what is exactly important in life. To make sure that those we love know it and to not waste a day with useless drama and unimportant nonsense.
