I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel, despite the tragic events at the beginning of the story it is an uplifting read full of wonderfully, quirky characters. If the storyline at times is a little unbelievable, it does not detract from the enjoyment of the novel.
There are some excellent characters in the book, the three men in the graveyard are so different and Grace's parents are hilarious, their relationship is one that you end up wanting for yourself. But my favourite character is Grace's cantankerous neighbour Betty, and the interaction between Betty and Grace is wonderful.
The writing style is one that I like, written in the present but with a hint of the past, I enjoyed getting to know Henry through Grace's flashbacks and learning about their relationship.
I will definitely be recommending this book to my fellow bibliophiles.
