Eithne Shortall is a completely new writer to me but I am astonished with the emotions she made me feel reading her beautiful words. Reading this story reminded me of another story that reduced me to tears - PS. I Love You.

Going into the story, I sort of knew what to expect after reading the synopsis but I wasn't expecting to be crying with laughter and tears quite so soon!

Grace is a lovely character to read about as we follow her through her journey of mourning for Henry and the life that could have been. We get little excerpts of their life together and although they weren't perfect, the love is real and very special. It made it all the more heartbreaking to read for me.

As the story develops we see Grace start to feel ready to live again, she unexpectedly meets Andy, who is the image of Henry and this takes the story into a new direction. Not one that I was expecting and the author has done brilliantly in making his story just as appealing as the story of Grace.

We read chapters from the point of view of other characters but mainly Grace and Andy and hear more about Andy and what has brought him to Ireland and mainly how he has entered Grace's life and the change he has made to her.

I won't give away too much of the storyline but I think the author has done a superb job of a sad subject in making you feel real emotions for the characters and reading about them has been an absolute joy.
