This heartwarming story is about a single mum called Abigail who is trying to figure out her current life by solving issues from the past.
When Abigail was 16 she started to receive mysterious self help book chapters that were sent and she continued to receive them throughout her life. When she suddenly gets asked to go on a retreat by the authors of the book, Abigail takes this opportunity to discover what all this is about.
The plot was definitely not what I was expecting and sort of took a turn that I found both bizarre and enjoyable in equal measure. Once I go over the strange concept of the book, I found it funny and pleasant to read.
I especially liked the idea of the happiness cafe that Abigail runs.
Despite the story being a bit strange, and I unfortunately thought the ending was a bit disappointing and weak, overall I found the story was full of likeable characters, and I was left reading it with a strong sense of hope, calmness and joy. This book is ultimately about how to live your life and I think that is always a great message to tell.
