Gravity is the thing was a very quirky and different read from my usual genre and took me a little while to get into it but once I did I was hooked. I wanted to read this as I am a fan of the authors sisters books Lianne Moriarty so wanted to see how the books and writing styles differed.
Abi is a single mum who has been through a lot a failed marriage, the disappearance of her brother, the book focuses on how she moves on her journey and takes step to improve her life and her wellbeing. It is a quirky twist on a traditional self help book in the way that the story centres around Abi receiving pages of a self help book randomly in the post referred to as "The guidebook" and is then invited to go on a paid trip to follow the journey/path that The guidebook is suggesting she takes and how all of this helps her to move through her life and through all the emotions she is feeling.
The book is a heart-warming and emotional read
