At first I struggled to get into this book, the cover would definitely be one that I would choose but the story took a while to get into. It is like it is three different stories, there is Abigail whose brother goes missing just before her sixteen birthday and the effects of this on her and her family and them all struggling to find out why and where he is. Then the story of Abigail receiving chapters of a book, The Guidebook, every year and she doesn’t know why she gets them and who they are from or what they mean. Also there is a story of a single mother whose marriage has just broken up and she has opened a Happiness cafe.
Each in themselves could be a book so this is quite a substantial book but it is broken down into parts, and as you get more into the story you learn how they all link in. Hard to put this book down.
