I wasn't sure I would like this book and first but one chapter in and I already decided that I would. The book is about 35 year-old Abi, mother to a five year old and owner of the happiness cafe, she also had a brother who went missing on her sixteenth birthday. Fron then she recieved chapters of the 'guidebook' a sort of self help book from a mysterious source that has helped to shape her life since then.

The writing style is hilarious and casual which created an immediate feeling of connection between myself and Abigail and her personality is clearly shown from the very first page.
The other characters are extremely vivid and each one is very loveable.

The plot itself is craftily written, realistic yet magical. However that being said I did struggle to get through it at some points during the middle.

The only reason I'm not rating this 5 stars is this is not the genre I tend to read and I am not the demographic for this book but nevertheless I still heartily enjoyed it and would recommend it, I gave the book to my mother after I'd finished with it and now it is one of her favourites so she-who ìs apart of the demoraphic for the book-would rate it 5 stars.

The book is funny, happy, warm, sad and memorising and I definitely recommend for an uplifting read :)
