I found the opening chapter intriguing (and a little confusing) because it's setting and time period is completely different to that mentioned in the blurb. I can only imagine that these earlier events will prove significant as the story progresses. I've read one book in John Lawton's Inspector Troy series (although this happened to be the latest book in the series) so I know he can tell a good story and create a realistic picture of the period it's set in. I like the idea of Finland as a setting so I'd give this one a go.
