Interesting but it amazing
Parts of this book were really gripping and interesting it other parts seemed to drag or not seem hugely relevant. I guess those parts make more sense if you have read the two other joe wilderness novels.
I loved some of the female characters in the book, particularly Janis Bell and Anna. I loved how these strong women were portrayed and shown to flout rules set by men.
The different settings were interesting, although at times confusing. Seeing the life of a spy in all its glory and mundanity was revealing. It was also striking what a small world espionage is, with the same characters coming in and out despite the changing backdrop.
The ending is a cliffhanger...I guess book number four will reveal the outcome!
