I do enjoy a good spy thriller but this wasn't one of the best I have read.Just not really for me but as I said maybe I just caught up on an adventure when they need to be read in reading order to get a fuller sense of characters and situations.. I found it quite difficult to get through some parts of it and it took me a while to form some sort of connection with the characters. I think someone with much more background knowledge on the historical context would enjoy this book as I thought I would enjoy reading about a new part of history.. I just found the style of writing quite difficult to engage myself in, but that is just a personal issue for myself and what I prefer. I would recommend it to anyone else who likes a mystery book but suggest reading the other books first! Howeverthe writer is gifted and has a way with words, the flow and style of his work just simply does not match my preferences.
