I have read spy novels in the past and really enjoyed them and this was OK, but not the best.
Maybe it was because I read this one but there are others in the series and maybe that made a difference to my enjoyment of it.
Especially towards the end when they brought in Inspector Harry Troy I kind of lost the thread of the plot a little.
I do think this is a series that needs to be read in order but even so I don't think this was my kind of style.
For me I found little engaging plot or characters and the writing style of flitting from character to character and situation was kind of annoying.
Not the worst I have read in the genre but for me certainly not the best either.
But then to be fair I haven't read the whole series from the start
