I have attempted to read this book twice now and while I found the premise and first impressions great, I just couldn’t carry on with it. It didn’t engage me and make me want to read on and frankly I found it a slog unfortunately, ending with me having to give up.
I think this is more me and my expectations of this book (a genre I’m not actually familiar with particularly) rather than it being an awful book. The characters developed nicely but it just didn’t hit the mark for me and having not read any previous books of his, I can’t say if this is typical of his writing and true to form or not. I just didn’t want to read on which is a shame. I would recommend anyone try it however as it might be for them.
