This was a story that deeply moved me. The spy plot was so deep and involved that I was there in person, living it too. Finland is an exposed landscape that perfectly suits this story. The hero, Joe Wilderness, is posted there as punishment. He starts smuggling Vodka with the USSR and his old KGB pal Kostya. It soon turns out that mining for Cobalt is involved. This mineral is a component of Atomic bombs! We travel to Prague and soon meet old friends and enemies there and the plot thickens. This is a story of spying in old school ways. It can be compared to a Le Carre story but is a much easier and looser read. Less public school more local comp! This is the third instalment of Jow Wilderness's exploits. It is well written with lots of history and humour.
