This was a very easy first read. Hana Khan is a 24 year old South Asian Muslim woman living in Toronto, who works part time in her families halal restaurant, located in the Golden Crescent part of the city. She really wants to be on radio and has her own podcast, called "Ana's Brown Girl Rambles" in which she talks about her life as a young Asian woman in Canada and her dreams and aspirations.

Written in a very interesting bang up to date style, the narrative is interspersed with excerpts from Hana's podcast and messages from her followers. This book is a perfect example of a crossover book, which would appeal to both YA readers and mainstream readers.
