I really enjoyed this first look, there was so much to unpack in so few pages.
One thing that I really loved was how, as a reader, I felt like I was in on something that some characters were not. I liked that the reader knows all about Hana’s life down to the detail of her brother-in-law’s cousins, and yet the person who she seems closest to (Stanley) knows nothing at all.
The writing is contemporary and relatable, the shift in structure is fascinating - it almost feels as though you are checking Hana’s comments with her.
Overall, I am already extremely invested in this book and can imagine not wanting to put it down.
