I fell in love with this book already from the first impression (least of all because Hana is a Taylor Swift fan!). The extract gave such a wonderful introduction to each character and we learned so much about each person within the first few chapters! I loved the introduction of Aydin (I suspect he might be the mystery podcast listener) and I just was so endeared by Hana’s father, he is so supportive and they have a lovely relationship. I also have the utmost respect for all the hard work Hana’s mother clearly puts into their family run restaurant. My only criticism is the whole podcast script being included in the book simply for the reason that the average podcast is usually 20-40mins long and these transcripts would be 3-5mins at most if read aloud but this is honestly a very minor criticism. Overall I would love to read more, I can tell Uzma Jalaluddin is clearly a very talented and charming writer!
