This book drew me in immediately with its multiple forms of expression and conversation: podcast extracts, comments, text messages and prose. I'm a sucker for a cute text flirtation like the one happening over the first few pages, and I found myself grinning at the witty banter tossed between Hana and Stanley. Both of them are smart, complex and holding a lot back, giving their potential relationship a lot of scope for exploration in the rest of the book.

From the beginning, it's clear that Hana is trying to form her identity by examining and questioning it, which is realistic and relatable, making me root for her and her dreams. I also learned a lot from the cultural references scattered throughout, from the descriptions of Indian food to the Urdu endearments and the explanations of what life is like for a second-generation immigrant.

I love the striking cover art too. I'm sure it, like the story, will catch the attention of many a reader.
