While I enjoy books of many genres I still enjoy Young Adult reads, this one was special as the way it was written was not too child like but for any one to read and SHOULD read. It tells the tale of diversity, adversity agaisnt racism and the power of coming together. The characters and plot blend seemlessly and there are so many touching and thought-provoking moments throughout.
The modern themes and the relatable struggles of society come together in a unique love story filled with a great sense of community and cultural pride.
I cannot wait to seek out other books by this author and such a touching tale that could even be made into a film or series! A great writer that manages to portray real life yet tell it in a way that is not too heavy but just enough to make you question society and the issues that people face.
