Hana Khan Carries On is one of those books that is easy to read and draws you in! Hana is a likeable main character although she does a couple of things in anger and frustration which make her less than perfect! She has an anonymous podcast and is an intern at a radio station. She belongs to a loving family and like all family their are issues.

Although at first you would be forgiven for thinking this is a book about a struggling family business and a girl with dreams of being on the radio, the story covers so much more. The story includes culture, racism, love, family, illness. Each of these elements makes you think.

From the start I had a feeling that the listener of her podcast would be a significant person but I was unsure. The messages between Hana and StanleyP are a lovely way to tell the story and share the thoughts and feelings of the characters.

What I liked most about this book is that there were different threads complicating things - just like real life. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a bit of romance and family drama.
