With a bright, bold cover this book certainly catches your eye!

The style of the book is easy to read and I loved the use of podcast transcripts and online comments to add to the mystery.

The story of Hana Khan is very relevant and while this is a rom-com it also has themes of racism, injustice and inequality.

Hana’s family run a Halal restaurant in Canada, but Hanna’s dream is to be on radio and tell stories. Aydin decides to set up a rival restaurant over the road. And his father seems set to destroy the neighbourhood!

With the arrival of Hana’s cousin Rashid and her unexpected auntie, Golden Crescent is thrown into all sorts of turmoil.

Hana gets her first, first-hand experience of hate crimes and also has to decide whether to stick by her values at work. Through all this her first podcast listener is a supportive of mysterious presence.

Will Hana have a happy ending? Will the restaurant survive?

Wonderful characters, this book is funny and heart-warming while also challenging important issues.
