Hana is a fantastic MC, and her point of view was a joy to read from. Her determination to be a storyteller while being true to her roots was admirable, especially when we saw her struggle to maintain her morals. Good Muslim representation in all kinds of media is frequently a difficult battle, and we see Hana waging that battle at her radio station when they want to run stories about Muslim communities that are truly destructive. This hit home for me since I try my hardest to read and suggest novels with positive Muslim representation, and it can be quite disheartening to see negative Muslim portrayal praised.Hana is dealing with Islamophobia in addition to the quest for fair representation. This cannot be discussed without minor spoilers, so come back after you've finished the book if you don't mind some minor spoilers! Reading the Islamaphobic attack scene brought tears to my eyes. I've been in situations when strangers have yelled at me because of my faith, and reading about it and what was going on in Hana's thoughts made me cry. Must READ for Muslim girls out there!
