I enjoyed this books so much, it was a delight to read from the outset.

Hana is a young Muslim woman juggling commitments to her career and her family. Her family owns a halal restaurant which has seen better days and which is put at risk of closure woth the opening of a new shinier halal restaurant opening down the street, owned by the charismatic Aydin (cue Tom Hanks vs Meg Ryan in You've Got Mail vibes, but made relevant and refreshingly less white).
Whilst Hana deals with business conflicts, and conflicts of the heart, she is also dealing with her culturally insensitive boss at the radio station she is interning at, and having to weigh up the cost of her authenticity against potential success at the station.

Hana takes refuge in creating podcasts, where her content and voice is not inhibited by the expectations of others.

This was a very light and easy read, and thoroughly enjoyable. It was some much needed chick lit from a new and underrepresented voice in this genre.
