Firstly I would like to thank Readers First, the author and the publisher for my advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I was drawn in from the very first few pages and was glued right until the very end. The book is fairly plot heavy and there’s quite a lot going on but it never feels too much or rushed and everything ties up nicely.
The main character is Hana, we hear the story from her point of view. She’s an anonymous podcast host, trying to make it in the radio scene and waitressing in the failing family business. I really liked the style of writing in the book and particularly liked the little additions of the text chat with Stanley.
There are so many issues covered in the book ranging from gender equality, racial discrimination, ill health, business survival, family secrets and love.
I’d describe the book as a rom com with a hard hitting edge.
