It was very interesting but I thoroughly enjoyed it
The story is quite interesting. Initially, it’s about a Muslim girl struggling to find her feet. The book immediately displays Hana’s and Stanley’s relationship to be friendly but not at that stage where they are willing to tell each other their personal information.
We also meet some more characters like Hana’s family and we get a bit of an insight to her past and the reason towards the restaurant they own.
Hana also seems like a bubbly, determined woman. She is very open to new things (although she doesn’t like the suggestion of marrying her friend!).
From what I have read, I think this is an outstanding story with lots of cultural context behind it.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book as it was amusing in a sense. The structure is mostly texts between Hana and Stanley and I feel that adds a certain modern touch to it. I cannot wait to finish the book and this is really a remarkable piece of writing.
