Hana is a young muslim woman living in Canada with her family who emigrated before she was born. As a family they own a restaurant but run into some problems when a father and son duo come to town with the goals of changing Golden Crescent from what her family know and love. Hana’s dream is to have her own radio show and as she works towards this she makes her own podcast and also does an internship for a radio station, which may not live up to her expectations.
What I loved about this book was although there was focus on Hana’s career choices, her family and also her love life, I found that it gave a good insight into Muslim experiences in day to day life. I found elements of this book educational which for me created a whole host of emotions.
As always I love a good enemies to lovers scenario and this book had plenty of that! I would really recommend this book.
