Hana Khan is 24 years old, splitting her time between working her internship at the radio station, recording episodes for her anonymous podcast, and working at her family’s halal restaurant. The restaurant isn’t exactly thriving, so when a new competitor gets ready to open up down the street, Hana turns to one of her anonymous friends for advice - how to embrace her competitive side, how to take down a new business, and possibly fall in love with the handsome new business owner...

I really enjoyed reading about Hana and her family - her hard-working parents who have never pressured her into choices she didn’t want. Her sister, the ex-football star, and her husband expecting their “little cantaloupe”, her hilarious cousin and spirited aunt visiting from India. All the characters were written in really beautiful and relatable ways. Hana’s friends seemed pretty one-dimensional to me, but in a way that I kind of understood as it’s written from Hana’s POV and she admits she’s hardly hung out with them for months. I loved Aydin from the start - charming and arrogant, but with a sensitive, caring side and a good sense of humour? Sign me right up for a new book boyfriend, thank you very much.

This is a book about family, culture, romance, individuality, and moving on. It tugged at my heart strings a little bit at the end, I won’t lie. Rom-coms arent my usual go-to when I want to read some romance, but I’m so glad I went for this book because I thoroughly enjoyed it and I’d absolutely read it again.

I’m so happy to have been able to read this before it’s official publication date, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who loves contemporary and romance or rom-com novels. 4/5, a quick, easy, and wholesome read that I devoured in a few sittings.
