Really enjoyed this book! The nuanced look into a modern, diverse household and representation of an independent POC was refreshing and unique. Hana Khan Carries on follows a South Asian Muslim girl navigating her life by balancing responsibilites at her family’s dying restaurant, new competitors, her career goals and friends/family. As a fellow South Asian, it accurately puts a lot of my own experiences into words that I hadn’t seen before and was very relatable. I finished the book in less than a day as the writing was very straightforward and easy to enjoy.

I found some aspects of the novel a bit cheesy, some characters were not as well rounded as I'd like and some caricatures, but that is common of the romance genre. Really enjoyed reading about Hana and admired her devotion to her family. The struggle between her career goals and helping her loved ones was very relatable and realistic. The love interest was an interesting, well rounded character.

Overall, a fun, wholesome book that I can see myself re-reading.
