I was really happy when I saw the cover of this book, and even happier when I read the first chapter. It is not very often that I come across books where the protagonist is a south Asian Muslim girl. I found it really comforting to see my community represented in an accurate way!

Hana is a fantastic MC, and her point of view was a joy to read from. Her determination to be a storyteller while being true to her roots was admirable, especially when we saw her struggle to maintain her principles. I also admire the fact that Hana is ambitious and wants to follow her dreams Good Muslim representation in all kinds of media is frequently a difficult struggle, and we see Hana waging that battle at her radio station when they want to air stories about Muslim communities that are truly destructive. This hit home for me since I find it hard to find novels with positive Muslim representation, and it can be quite disheartening to see negative Muslim portrayal lauded.
