Another witty and self deprecating look at the difficulties faced by young Muslim women who come from traditional backgrounds but live in the modern world.
This author is so talented in being able to write in a way that is compelling and entertaining to non Muslims but also true to her faith.
I think most readers would realise early in the story who the real anonymous bloggers StanleyP and AnaBGR really are but that doesn’t spoil the plot at all in fact it makes it even more intriguing. This is a lovely book about family, faith, honesty and friendship as well as delicious food which makes the reader’s mouth water. Of course, racism, hate crimes and workplace discrimination are also present but Hana and her family values manage to rise above these. I was just a little disappointed by the lengths to which Hana went to try and discredit the new rival restaurant - would she really be that bad?
Highly recommended.
