Interesting in that I found the style of this book quite unusual. It was slow to get into and in a way a disjointed story to me. I could not take to the Grump, an 80 year old man with very fixed ideas on how the world should work. He is very resistant to anything new and could be seen as a miser or very sensibly economical. He cares for his wife although she does not live with him as she is too frail. His son and daughter-in-law are trying to decide what to do with him and he is very calmly not going along with their ideas. He has an accident and ends up in hospital. His thoughts keep wandering and he goes off at tangents. I felt I had to read this novel to the end but I cannot say I enjoyed the story.
