There is a lot of mystery and strange circumstance in this book. When football leads Beth near to the address of a long lost friend, she sees something that she couldn’t possibly see... Flora and her two children, unchanged from their last meet up, twelve years prior! Beth decides to investigate this and try to make some sense of it all.
Alongside the mystery of the children who haven’t grown, there are a lot of secrets to be revealed and family dynamics to be explored.
I was absolutely hooked from the start but about three quarters of the way through I felt the story lost its way a bit and was a bit too neatly sorted. Definitely worth a read but perhaps not quite a book of the year for me.
