This book was almost impossible to put down, and when I did I couldn't stop thinking about it. The different twists and turns were unpredictable and frequent. I could easily and immediately put myself in Beth's shoes; intrigue in a past friendship, confusion and doubt from what she'd seen, and determination to get to the bottom of whatever was happening.
Sophie Hannah has a great way of capturing her reader, and I genuinely was trying to work out the "puzzle" when I wasn't reading. Her characters are likeable, memorable and easy to identify with - Beth and her family have so called regular lives, suggesting what happens could happen to anyone. I highly recommend this book for lovers if thriller, intrigue and suspense.
