This is the first book I’ve read by Sophie Hannah and I really enjoyed it. The premise is quite bizarre but the story builds and we discover the characters have secrets and lie to cover these. The book increases with tension and interest and the end is very good and not at all what I might have expected. There are not a large number of characters and they are described so well that you really feel you understand their nature and personality, this helps as the story develops and things happen. There are some ‘controlling issues’ in the book but it isn’t gruesome and doesn’t contain bad language, it didn’t make me feel uncomfortable. The story ends with the characters being reunited four months later and I would have gladly kept reading to discover how they felt with one another.
