This is one of those books that are really difficult to review, because you don't want to give any plot lines away....but briefly:
Beth takes a detour whilst driving her son to a football match, with the purpose of 'having a nosey' at the house were friends that she hasn't seen or spoken to in twelve years moved to. Whilst parked outside, a car arrives at the property and Beth witnesses her old friend Flora get out followed by her two children, Thomas and Emily. The only problem being that the children look exactly like they did the last time that Beth saw them, twelve years previously. What follows is Beth's obsession with finding out the truth about what she witnessed.
Now I'm normally a fan of Sophie Hannah, and I was really excited about this book, but it just didn't quite hit the mark for me. Don't get me wrong, it was well written and completely readable, it just didn't live up to my expectations.
