Firstly I love the cover of this book. The fact that both mother and daughter are only seen from behind suggests that this novel may involve an emotional and possibly haunting journey. I was very quickly absorbed in the first look and intrigued as to why Josephine felt a great need to leave Ireland in 1980 and how seventeen years on this is affecting her relationship with her children. But more importantly what will become of her journey home to Ireland all these years later?
