The First Impression feels a little disjointed but I suspect that is because this is one of those books where you need to read at least 50 or so pages before it starts to bed in and find it's rhythm.

It is the kind of book I generally enjoy so hopefully it will find it's stride and begin to captivate with tales of a "real" life being lived and how that life impacts on those around it. Certainly it appears that Josephone's upbringing has led her to become an inconsistent Mother who is raising a watchful, but not yet cowed, Daughter.

The writing style is almost chatty and the two viewpoints we have been treated to both have distinct and individual voices so I have high hopes for this book.
