This story follows Josephine and her daughter Clare. These two are the namesake of the book. We go between Ireland and London where we revisit Josephines story. We have different points of view between the two women. Clare is portrayed in a very sweet way and from a child's perspective. The relationship between the mother and daughter is a very nice and caring on.
I enjoyed the flashbacks from Josephine's life as you could find out the path on which she was taken to get to where she was.
The story takes on quite a bitter tale in the end which was not was I was expecting. It would be interesting to possibly get a sequel and find out what went on.
I would half recommend this book to everyone as it hasn't got a satisfactory ending IMO.
