The cover of 'Her Mothers Daughter' drew me straight to this book and left me feeling quite intrigued. The fact that both mother and daughter were only seen from behind suggested to me that this would be a novel involving an emotional and possibly haunting journey.

The story is told from two different perspectives of both mother and daughter. Josephine's story starting from when she begins her new life in London in 1980 and her ten year old daughter Claire's story in 1997.

Josephine leaves Ireland behind in 1980 with a great need to escape her home country. This story takes you on an emotional journey as it unravels Josephine's need to escape Ireland and how seventeen years on this is affecting her relationship with her children. But more importantly what becomes of her journey home to Ireland all these years later and how it impacts on her family.

I absolutely loved this book which I was very quickly absorbed in and found incredibly difficult to put down. If you love the likes of Jodi Picoult then i'm sure you will love 'Her Mothers Daughter'
