I shall start with my first impressions of the book cover and what a cover it is! It’s intriguing and interesting. A busy cover with lots going on but not so much that you are distracted and confused, the opposite in fact. It draws you in. Children will love it. The colours are amazing. The dog and the train will grip readers interests. The title is clear to see and again draws the reader in.
Now going on to my first impressions of the book itself Hide and Seek by Rhian Tracey is a thrilling historical fiction book aimed at children age 9 and over, although adults could also enjoy this book just as much.
I haven’t read anything by this author before but a quick search shows me that she has also wrote ‘I Spy; a Bletchley park mystery that looks just as good and has fantastic reviews.
This looks like it is going to be a very gripping thrilling book about war time. Perfect for children especially those with a Interest in history and/or the war.. I could see this being read in schools. It looks like it is going to be a real page turner full of twists and turns! A real must read..
