Rhian Tracey has the wonderful ability of writing books for older children that are both exciting and fun to read and educational. Following on from I, Spy, Hide and Seek is another Bletchley Park mystery. Ned is the son of an undertaker and became involved with Robyn and Mary in I, Spy. In Hide and Seek Ned and his mother leave Bletchley for Wales for Ned's mother's work with the National Gallery. Ned's father disapproves of his mother's war work but undeterred she takes Ned with her to Wales where precious art has been removed for safekeeping for the duration of the war. They live with Mrs Thomas, the headteacher, her son Harri who is clearly unhappy at having more people in his small home, and Anni, a Jewish refugee from Vienna. It's going to be great to read more of the adventures that Ned is sure to be involved in after his experiences with Robyn and Mary. The Bletchley Park mysteries are a great way of introducing children to stories set during the war.
