This is a history lesson hidden in the pages . This is the second book by Rhian Tracey based around the second world war and the implications on the main characters life Ned . He is a lovely likeable boy and we are introduced to a couple of newcomers including refugees and families with parents at war or lost . The story circle around The National Gallery and how they hid their artwork during the war in secret hideaways from enemy attacks and theft. The book is based on actual true events round about this time period and the back of the book gives snippets into the refugees , Bletchley Park codes and the hiding of art work .This book makes an ideal read for any child that is doing a project at school on the second world war and explains the facts in easy dialect .Loved the overall storyline, characters the book cover and blurb and I cannot wait for the third book in the series.
