The second instalment in the Bletchley Park Mystery Gang - perfect for fans of the old Famous Five books by Enid Blyton or Swallows and Amazons.
Set in wales in the 1940s Ned and the gang undergo another top-secret mission in the sleepy little village of Manod.

At just over 250 pages it’s an ideal length for the target age (late primary / early secondary, depending on reading ability). There is also some additional factual information after the epilogue for children who are interested in further researching the war-time era or some of the topics covered within the story.
The cover is gender-neutral so appeals to a wider range of readers. Alongside the dog and the train t ticks a lot of boxes for potential readers who have many books to choose from. If this was in the class library it gives a clear indication of what’s to be expected in the story, including the time period, so the quick blurb is all that’s needed for a child to decide if this is their sort of thing.
