I know this is a teen book, but I have to say I quite enjoyed it. I needed something that wasn't too testing and was light. I found the characters really interesting and well rounded. It was also fascinating to learn more about this period in our history - second world war. I loved how the author captured the innocence of youth, whilst at the same time the fear and discrimination they were going for. This may be because they were a Jewish refuge or just English in a small Welsh town.

I didn't know anything about this war effort, how the National Gallery hid art in Wales and the whole network of spies and helpers to keep this hidden. The book doesn't just centre on this but really gives a picture into the lives of those through the second world war.

I definitely recommend this for any young at heart reader who wants a good old "Famous Five" feel type book to read!
