Death and the many ways we expire, an introduction to our own mortality. As a fan of realising your own mortality, this book was right down my ginnel.

The introduction was poor, the attempts at humour fell flat, the dialogue between the comedy man and the Doctor was terrible... but I couldn’t stop turning the pages.

This 30 page portion features well researched science which was fitted to a particular film to uncover the shocking truth of bacterial and virus transmission, what a fascinating subject, the dire humour can be ignored when the topic is so fruitful in those great nuggets of information. Please note, this is not for film buffs, it’s mainly fact checking of plots, there are some spoilers too.

An easy reader, in the top killers were mesmerising, the Black Death at 200 million, the spanish flu at 50 million, the H5N1 avian flu 60% mortality rate, wow. Ideal as a bedtime read, but I would like to read it on my upcoming germ filled long haul flight to a disease ridden metropolis.
