Morbidly Fascinating

Hollywood Wants To Kill You by Rick Edwards and Dr Michael Brooks is absolutely fascinating in a morbid way being all about death in films but, paradoxically, there is much humour. The authors have written light-heartedly yet incredibly knowledgeably about various causes of death portrayed in many sensationalised films. These range from viruses to nuclear destruction via insomnia with 11 chapters dedicated to each different method. There is a lot of hard facts and science here but perfectly understandable to all readers. A terrific book but, as the book states, perhaps not best suited to any readers who have yet to come to terms with the inescapable fact that we will all die sometime.
