More science than I was expecting

This is not the sort of book I'd usually be drawn to but I found the blurb intriguing. Since I don't watch a lot of movies and couldn't in all honesty tick one of the two boxes shown in the introduction, I thought my lack of knowledge of the films likely to be mentioned would be a problem. However, having read the first chapter, I realized there's way more science content than you might expect and the film examples are really just the vehicle to communicate a lot of detail about the wide range of threats people face in their lives.
