I want to read more!
As a sci-fi, thriller and action film fan I wanted to review this book extract, and I wasn't disappointed. I would love to read it all! The style is easy to follow and covers all the science in an accessible manner, and keeps it fairly light. It would be suitable for anyone from teen film fans to adult readers.
The chapter on virus-induced death was really interesting and covered the more famous virus types, their means of transmission between host and victim, and what happens to the body once infected. This is linked to some well-known Hollywood films (Contagion, Outbreak and so on...) and I think I'll go view Contagion off the back of reading this chapter.
Other chapters cover asteroids, predators, aliens, old age, and even death by plants!
