Having an interest in both science and films, I liked the way this book utilises both to explain, in an informative and engaging way, something we all have in common. We're all gonna die. (Spoiler alert).

The different writing styles - factual scientific evidence, referencing fictional (or not so much) examples of how death is approached cinematically, and the repartee tete-a-tete banter between the authors - make the narrative flow easily between hard science, Hollywood hyperbole and witty asides, making this a book that is both amusing and thought provoking.

There are plenty of statistics and scientific language but the book is worded in a way that keeps it interesting, and the references to popular cinema are well utilised to ensure the lay reader doesn't feel bogged down in hard science throughout.
