Scary stuff!

Hollywood wants to kill you is an interesting but rather scary book. Each chapter takes a different topic based on an "end of the world" film such as Armageddon and Contagion. It then explores the science behind what happens in the movies and the risk of the events happening. I think this book would appeal to people who are interested in both science and apocalyptic movies! Given how prophetic the first chapter on viruses and the potential for a pandemic has been I was less keen to read chapters such as the one on asteroids but I found the one on infertility interesting. I wouldn't recommend the book for people who are prone to worrying or who ruminate on books they have read or films they have watched though!
